Kokum Butter

Kokum butter is similar to Shea or Mango Butter, but not all butters are created equally. Like mango or Shea butter, Kokum is also a natural butter that nurtures the dry and sensitive skin but has different beneficial properties.  Kokum Butter is extracted from the seeds of the kokum tree, or Mangosteen tree, and has been used for centuries for healing in India. It is best known as a potent emollient, the moisturizing property that keeps skin hydrated. It softens dry, rough and damaged skin making it look and feel better, while also keeping skin cells healthy so they do not break down so easily.

Kokum butter is a much lighter butter than others, making it melt instantly into skin leaving it silky soft. It is also and it is non-comedogenic, so it does not clog pores. A perfect choice for sensitive and oily skin, or if you just prefer a lighter butter. It is rich in vitamin E, offering skin protection against free radicals while also helping to promote cell regeneration and function. It is also rich in stearic acid, which helps to remove dirt and bacteria from the surface of the skin, giving this butter the ability to rejuvenate dead skin cells.

Kokum butter is known also for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which soothe and heal inflamed skin, such as cuts, cracks and sunburns. It contains a high concentration of fatty acids like omegas 3 & 6, which keep skin feeling happy and healthy. This wonderful butter restores skin and also helps clear dark spots.
